MP's Christmas Card Competition

2.08.30pm GMT Mon 18th Dec 2006

On Friday afternoon MP Vincent Cable met and gave prizes to the winner and 8 runners up in the annual competition amongst local schools to design the best Christmas card for the MP. This year there were hundreds of entries from a dozen primary and infant schools in the Twickenham half of the borough. The winner was Anna Wilson from St Mary's and St Peter's CE Primary School.

Vincent Cable said that "there was a tremendous standard and it was extremely difficult to choose a winner.

"In past years the prizes have been useful things like pencil cases and computer equipment but I discovered that House of Commons teddy bears were far more popular and this year all the children opted for them."
